If you want to watch stuff you've recorded using EyeTV on your living room TV, you need some way of getting it from your Mac to your TV. The Apple TV is one way. You could also put it on an iPod and connect teh iPod to your TV or, of coursee, burn it to DVD. It depends what you want to do.
