BallmerBalls

BallmerBalls
n: nonsensical, idiotic, and often hilarious expressions uttered by the current Microsoft CEO, Steve Ballmer.

Steve Ballmer’s comments about the iPhone are just the latest in long line of unbelievably crass and stupid things that have fallen from the mouth of the Microsoft CEO. He said ‘There’s no chance that the iPhone is going to get any significant market share. No chance.’ This despite the fact that the vice-president of polling company, Harris Interactive, said, following a survey, ‘Apple’s new iPhone has shaken the industry to its core. Look for strong sales and a new cult to develop around the iPhone’

I wonder who’s right? To help you make up your mind, here’s a few more choice BallmerBalls:

‘Google’s not a real company. It’s a house of cards.’

‘I don’t know what a monopoly is until somebody tells me.’

‘I like to tell people that all of our products and business will go through three phases. There’s vision, patience, and execution.’

‘I’m not sure blogs are necessarily the best place to get a pulse on anything. People want to blog for a variety of reasons, and that may or may not be representative.’

‘Most people still steal music.’

‘My children - in many dimensions they’re as poorly behaved as many other children, but at least on this dimension I’ve got my kids brainwashed: You don’t use Google, and you don’t use an iPod.’

‘We don’t have a monopoly. We have market share. There’s a difference.’

‘Vista will be out next year. Vista has never been delayed. I mean, we had earlier conceptualizations, but the thing that is Vista is on its track.’

‘DRM is the future.’

There are many more on Brainy Quote, where these came from, but I think the ones above are enough to give examples of what shall now be known as BallmerBalls. If I’ve missed any of your favourites, feel free to add them in the Comments.
