<p>2. It would never have been possible had Apple not moved to Intel.</p>
<p>3. Apple clearly has some clout in the Intel boardroom.</p>
<p>4. The lack of an optical drive, Ethernet port and Firewire port don&#8217;t matter to most people.</p>
<p>5. The SSD version will become the standard inside two years. Goodbye hard drive.</p>
<p>6. The inability to upgrade Ram is mitigated by the better than anticipated 2GB standard config.</p>
<p>7. The inability to replace the battery is an issue. Batteries lose their ability to charge over time. Fact. </p>
<p>8. Regarding performance, <a href="http://paulstamatiou.com/2008/01/15/thoughts-on-the-macbook-air/">Paul</a> says it best: &#8216;donâ€™t buy ultraportable notebooks for their workstation-like performance.&#8217;</p>
<p>9. It&#8217;s too damn expensive, especially in the UK where there&#8217;s a 33% mark-up compared to the US price.</p>
